To illustrate this, Imagine you are a sailboat.  You are in a bay that you know but need to leave to discover new horizons. Where do you start?  First, you need to be clear on where you want to go.  Perhaps, there are repairs to be done to the boat before you head out. More equipment may be necessary or helpful.  Weather conditions are important. You want to make sure you maximize use of the winds that will get you to your destinations.  Charting your course will help you get where you want to go rather than trying randomly. Charting will also help you build in purposeful destinations and checkpoints along the way – for pleasure, for cleaning out the old and bringing the new, replenishing supplies and energy, for learning.

 Sometimes, when going through dramatic life change such as a divorce, these things are not very clear to us. We may need more resources and skills to equip us for our journey. We may need support along the way to keep our focus. What is required for each and every one of us is different.  In this way, Coaching is customized to each individual.
